The SDEN1, 2 and 3 courses were a very valuable experience. The content was excellent and well structured, with a clear balance between theory and practice. The teacher conveyed the material at a good pace — smoothly and to the point, without being long-winded. Just the way I like it. The structure of the evening classes was strong: first an intensive piece of theory, followed by wine tasting in a fixed, recognisable way. This structure made it easier to learn how to taste and analyse, and gave me more and more confidence in recognising different wine styles. What I also really appreciated was that there was always room for questions and that the teacher responded to them attentively. This created a pleasant, interactive atmosphere in which you really became involved in the lesson. A big plus was the opportunity to read through the course book before the first lesson. This helped enormously in following the course material during the theory blocks. It was great that this was arranged immediately when I asked for it. Perhaps it would be a good idea to offer this as standard for future students? The wines we tasted were very varied and excellently chosen in relation to the topics covered, which further enhanced the learning process. All in all, this was an informative and enjoyable course, with a teacher who not only has a wealth of knowledge, but also really thinks along with you and creates a pleasant learning environment. I would definitely recommend this course to others.

The only minor point for improvement was the lighting in the accommodation, but that's a minor detail compared to the great content and atmosphere of the course. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to deepen their wine knowledge in a fun and educational way.

The SDEN2 course was very successful and well tailored to its objective: thorough preparation for the exam and broadening your wine knowledge. The content was very well organised and logically structured, making the course material easy to follow. The teacher's expertise was excellent. Not only did she convey the theory clearly, but she also ensured that we were actively involved in tasting and discussing the wines. The interaction with the students was good – there was room for questions and interaction, although it could perhaps have been a little more dynamic. What I really appreciated was the variety of wines we tasted. We sampled a wide range of styles and regions, and were regularly taken out of our comfort zone, which made the learning process even more interesting. The course provided excellent preparation for the exam, and I felt well prepared afterwards. I don't really have any areas for improvement to mention — everything went smoothly and professionally. In short: an informative and well-organised course that I would definitely recommend to others who want to get serious about wine.

The SDEN3 course was once again a valuable and educational experience. The content was excellent, well tailored to the level and structured in a way that was logical and easy to follow. The structure was good, although it could have been a little clearer at times — but that did not detract from the quality of the lessons. What stands out most is Jacqueline's passion. It shines through in every course. We have now taken SDEN1, SDEN2 and SDEN3 with her and passed with flying colours — that says it all! Her knowledge, enthusiasm and personal approach really make you want to delve deeper into the world of wine. The interaction within the group was also very enjoyable. There was room for questions, discussion and sharing experiences. The wines tasted were varied and tied in well with the theory covered, which enhanced the learning process. A nice extra was the masterclass on Spain — definitely recommended! It's a pity that Jolanda was unable to attend due to illness, but we will definitely be back for the next masterclass. In short: a very successful course with an enthusiastic teacher who not only prepares you for the exam, but also inspires you for everything to do with wine.

I have no suggestions for improvement – everything ran smoothly and felt professional and well thought out. In short: I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to get serious about wine and prepare well for the SDEN2 exam.

I found the SDEN2 wine course to be very valuable. The content of the course was excellent: well thought out, clearly structured and easy to follow. 7-5-24 We had a wine tasting with snacks from Jaqueline in the beautiful ice cream factory in Breda! We tasted delicious wines and learned which flavours to recognise in wine after an enthusiastic explanation! We experienced how a snack can change the taste of wine! Jaqueline, thank you for your enthusiastic and enjoyable explanation on behalf of our group of district nurses!

After successfully completing the three SDEN courses, Jacqueline organised a Spain/Portugal Masterclass last night. We got to taste delicious wines with different cheeses, and at the end of the evening, she and her husband Rob served a fantastic paella😋. We thoroughly enjoyed all these delicacies. We have had the pleasure of experiencing her enthusiasm on several occasions; she is such an engaging storyteller when it comes to wines and everything related to them, and it is always a small (and educational) celebration! We certainly hope there will be a follow-up to this.

We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting! Without too many expectations, we (a mixed group of seven friends) visited the beautiful Ijsfabriek de Noordpool building. Without us knowing, it turned out to be a blind wine tasting, so we really had to savour it. Top wines with matching dishes. It was great fun :-) Thank you, Jacqueline, and see you soon!

Once again, we had a very enjoyable experience with Jacqueline last Sunday, 12 November. This time, it was a wine tasting in Gilze, where all of Jacqueline's wines are stored. It was very well organised, with many different wines from various countries such as France, Italy, Spain, and Chile, but also from lesser-known countries such as Slovenia and Croatia. Of course, we brought back a small collection, as the wine cellar needs to be filled (and stay that way😊).

In the atmospheric ambiance of the IJsfabriek de Noordpool national monument in Breda, hostess and wine expert Jacqueline de Gouw guided us through the SDEN 2 course material over five evenings. Each evening also included extensive tasting and discussion of a selection of wines. This combination of Brabant hospitality with an eye for both theory and practice made these evenings a weekly pleasure. I will also be taking SDEN 3 with her!

On 22 June, Jacqueline organised an Italian Masterclass in her cosy Experience Kitchen in Breda, where almost all of us from last winter's SDEN3 group were present. How wonderful that we were all so enthusiastic about participating. But then again, with a teacher like that, it's no surprise. The entire course was very well organised, with lots of wine tastings and clear, useful information that definitely helped us achieve a great end result. The Masterclass itself was also perfectly organised with lots of different wines (no fewer than 15!) from Italy, and she also presented matching snacks with each wine. It was all delicious, I think we all thoroughly enjoyed this evening and hope there will be a sequel, because outside Italy there are many more wonderful wine countries to discover.

We took the SDEN 2 wine course with Jacqueline. With great enthusiasm, knowledge and delicious wines, Jacqueline helped us discover even more about the world of wine.

A perfectly organized wine tasting held at 🏡 our home. Everything went smoothly and the entire afternoon was arranged from start to finish. Wonderful wines, a great story with impressive knowledge of grapes🍇🍷. Because the wines were presented blind, each participant had to rely on their sense of smell, color, and taste buds.

Jacqueline knows what she's talking about and, with her enthusiasm, taught us so much in just a few evenings of SDEN1 and then SDEN2 that we can now choose a delicious wine at the off-licence and know which wine goes with which dish in a restaurant. A few years ago, I started learning about wine, which I really enjoyed. I knew absolutely nothing about wine, except that there was red and white wine! Then I had the idea of taking a course with my wife at Passie voor Wijnen. I have become much more knowledgeable, by tasting and evaluating various wines during the course. It was enjoyable to taste and evaluate wine with strangers. I received a lot of information and, of course, learned a great deal. Now we have both obtained our first certificate, which is wonderful. On 25 January, we held a wine tasting at our home to celebrate a birthday. We invited three couples, all of whom enjoy a glass of wine, and a good glass of wine at that. Jacqueline made it a wonderful evening with fantastic wines and professional explanations. We were given a form on which we could note our discoveries during the tasting. It was amazing when, after tasting the wine, we drank it after eating our homemade snacks. This was also on Jacqueline's advice. The combination made the taste completely different. Last weekend, we celebrated our family party with a wine theme. We spent the night in two wine barrels converted into cabins. What could be more logical than organising a wine tasting? Quite a challenge, given the composition of our family and the wide diversity of wine knowledge. The youngest members (both 19) are not yet very familiar with the world of wine, while the oldest two (50+) are quite knowledgeable, with everyone else falling somewhere in between. Jacqueline managed to captivate everyone in our group with her knowledge and explanations. We learned a lot in a very relaxed way. Jacqueline remained calm and did not let herself be distracted by all the jokes, but knew how to go with the flow of the group's atmosphere. She also brought some delicious wines with her, some of which we will definitely be ordering again. Highly recommended.

The combination with Jaqueline's homemade delicacies made the experience complete. A blind tasting with two white and four red wines opened our eyes. The nice thing about a blind tasting is that you have to rely on your other senses. We did the wine tasting in the former IJsfabriek de Noorpool, a beautiful historic location. In short, it was a very successful evening and highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience this for themselves.

Had a lovely wine tasting at home last night with eight friends. It was a gift for one of the friends, and we all enjoyed it together. Jacqueline asked if we had any specific requests, and we said we only wanted to taste Italian wines. We ended up blind tasting three white and three red wines, and the journey of discovery through Italy was wonderful! Jacqueline knows a lot about wines and really makes it an interesting experience. Highly recommended! What's more, the wines that were served are also available to buy at a reasonable price. In short, it was a successful wine tasting evening as far as we are concerned. We had a really enjoyable, educational and fun wine tasting afternoon! As a surprise for my boyfriend's 30th birthday, I organised a wine tasting with a small group of friends and family. Jacqueline was very enthusiastic and helpful in making this surprise a success. She had chosen a beautiful outdoor location. My boyfriend likes the more robust wines (Barolo, Amarone, Rioja), so she helped us plan a more luxurious tasting. We were also able to choose our preferred country of origin for the wines. We were very enthusiastic about the wines and all the explanations and information provided. Highly recommended! We will definitely be back, Jacqueline! This week, our wine club IVV visited Jacqueline. We blind tasted eight wines. Some were very surprising, but there were also a few classics. And finally, the incredible Riesling Late Harvest, a dessert in itself; nothing else is needed. Jacqueline knows a lot about wine and can talk about it in an entertaining way; we learned a lot more this evening. Yesterday we had a very enjoyable, educational and fascinating wine experience. What delicious wines and how much fun it was to discover and recognise the flavours together with Jaqueline. We are a group of friends aged 60+ who appreciate the pleasures of life. Well, last Sunday we certainly did that. The snacks were also very successful and it was funny to discover that the taste of the snacks can change the taste of the wine. Compliments for the nice presentation and beautiful stories. A very enjoyable and educational evening! We learned a lot about the background of wine flavours and how to taste them. There were also delicious snacks and it was fascinating to discover how food changes the taste of wine. There was also very tasty non-alcoholic wine and vegetarian snacks, which suited our group perfectly.

Last Wednesday's wine tasting was a great success for our experienced group of 10 seniors, thanks to Jacqueline's interesting and enjoyable explanations about the various wines and their origins. Our taste buds were put to work and, of course, we were left wanting more! We have now purchased the tastiest wines, along with the stories that go with them.

Even as an experienced wine lover, Jacqueline was able to surprise us several times during a cosy family gathering and mislead us about the origin and grape variety of the wine.
