Visit to Errazuriz Winery

Errazuriz Winery is located in the Aconcagua Valley in Chile, approximately 100 kilometers north of the capital Santiago.

The headquarters and historic cellars are located in the town of Panquehue . This area is known for its ideal climate for winegrowing: the warm valley is cooled by the breezes of the Pacific Ocean on one side and the cold air of the Andes on the other. This slightly cooler region allows grapes like Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir to thrive.

The architecture of the building, "where it all happens," was stunning. Everything fit together perfectly. The tanks (stainless steel, wood, and concrete, both egg and conical) were beautifully and spaciously arranged.

In the cellar there was a library of wine bottles and a nice line up with the first bottle from 1983 and the last from 2022.

We arrived at a long table set with 4 different wines and platters of snacks.

• 1st wine: Kai from 2022 DO Aconcagua Valley; 96% Carmenere and 4% Syrah

• 2nd wine: La Cumbra 2022 DO Aconcagua Valley; 100% Syrah

• 3rd wine: Villa Don Maximiano 2021 DO Aconcagua Valley; 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Carmenere, 22% Syrah, 17% Malbec and 13% Grenache

• 4th wine: Don Maximiano Founder's Reserve 2022 DO Aconcagua Valley; 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Malbec and 11% Petit Verdot.
