Guerrieri Winery - Le Marche - Italy

The Marche region, located on the right-hand side of Italy between Tuscany and Umbria, boasts the sea, high mountains perfect for skiing in winter, and rolling hills. Besides Sangiovese, Montepulciano (red), and Verdicchio (white), many indigenous grapes are used, such as Bianchello (white). Bianchello, in particular, surprised me with its lovely acidity, some spice, and plenty of body. This wine pairs wonderfully with fish dishes. The red wine is often a blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano, which have a different flavor than those from Tuscany or Abruzzo.

Azienda Agraria Guerrieri has been an authentic Italian family business for five generations (since 1800). Currently, father and son are in charge. In addition to producing fine wines, they also make (top-quality) olive oil, pasta, and honey. Guerrieri is located in Piagge, in the Pesaro-Urbino province. The company prioritizes sustainability, as evidenced by the exclusive use of solar energy and natural yeasts, and the minimal use of sulfites in the wines. This results in exceptionally pure, high-quality wines. It's no wonder they win prestigious awards every year. That's why I've included these wines in my selection. A truly enjoyable wine with a capital "E"!

A visit to the Guerrieri winery is definitely worthwhile. If you're looking to stay nearby, I highly recommend Villa Fonti .
