Penedès is located just south of Barcelona, partly in the province of Barcelona and partly in the province of Tarragona in Catalonia. The two wine centers are Sant Sadurní d'Anoia for DO Cava wines, and Vilafranca del Penedès for DO Penedès wines. Some of Spain's finest wines come from the Penedès and are often a blend of native and exotic grapes. They are typically light, fresh, clean, rich in fruit, and have a beautiful finish. Penedès white wines are currently vying with Rueda and Rías Baixas for the title of "Spanish Classic White Wine." Cava is made using the traditional method, just like Champagne . You can learn more about this method during a wine course. If you're looking for a nice sparkling wine but don't want to pay the price of Champagne, choose a slightly more expensive Cava. You won't be disappointed.
In this beautiful area, I visited the Carol Vallès Cava house. I didn't have an appointment, but I received a very friendly welcome from CEO Bet. Their Cava is 100% organic and certified as such. They have delicious Cava, both reserve and grand reserve wines, and primarily brut nature, meaning no added sugar at all. The wines have less than 7g of sugar and an alcohol content of 11.5%.

Their grapes come from 45-70 year-old vineyards and they use Xarel-lo, Macabeu, Parellada, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. The wines are so delicious, they are also available for purchase on their website:
